What is a Notary Public?
In Victoria, a notary public is a solicitor who has been appointed by the Supreme Court to serve as a Notary Public. Unlike a Justice of the Peace, a Notary Public is able to execute, witness and authenticate or certify documents for use both overseas and within Australia.
What are the fees involved?
Generally the fee will be $150 including GST, provided that there are no further appointments required, and provided that there are no Apostilles required. If it becomes apparent at your appointment that the fee involved is going to be more than $150, then Stephen Prior will let you know immediately.
